Lent: Good Friday
We have experienced many things this year that we never expected. Wars between nations. Political crises, and economic ones, too. Epidemic scares resurrect from time to time. The sudden halt or alteration of the world we are used to can happen any time. Yet all of these are nothing compared to what happened on the very first Good Friday: the death of God.
The God who is the source of life died on the cross. There is no explanation for this except His eternal love for each and every one of us. Think about this: someone has already died for you. Someone has already offered His life for you. Someone has already taken upon Himself the sins you have committed in this world. Someone has already loved you completely, so much so that He gave everything, His whole self, for you.
Take time to gaze upon the Cross and feel the love that God offers you through His Son, Jesus. Make this day different and truly special through silence and prayer, filled with gratitude to God who is willing to give everything for you.
Lord, remove from me the virus of hardness of heart. Replace it with a heart that knows how to recognize great love, a love always ready to accept, forgive, embrace, accompany, and offer its life for me.
If it is difficult for you to go to confession at this time, sincerely repent of your sins and ask the Lord for forgiveness with a good Act of Contrition; resolve to go to Confession the next possible opportunity.
