Cardinal Orlando Beltran Quevedo (born 11 March 1939) is a Filipino archbishop and cardinal-elect.
On January 12, 2014, Pope Francis named him as one of the 19 new cardinals of the Catholic church. He will be created a cardinal in the consistoryof February 22, 2014.
Early life
He was born on March 11, 1939, in Laoag, Ilocos Norte. In 1945-47, he attended grades 1 to 3 in Laoag Shamrock school, and finished grades 4-6 in Marbel Central Elementary School in Marbel, South Cotabato (graduating in 1950). He attended Notre Dame High School in Marbel from 1950-1954.

Priesthood
He entered San Jose Seminary from 1954-56, but spend his novitiate in St. Peter’s Novitiate in Mission, Texas. He completed his Philosophy in San Jose Seminary from 1957-1960. From 1960-64, he completed his STB and MA in Religious Education from Oblate College(Catholic University of America) in Washington, DC. He was ordained a priest of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate on June 5, 1964[1]
In 1964, he was assigned assistant parish priest of Cotabato Cathedral.

As Bishop and Archbishop
He was appointed Bishop-prelate of Kidapawan by Pope John Paul II on October 28, 1980.  Upon the prelature’s elevation to diocese, he assumed the title of Bishop of Kidapawan.
On March 22, 1986, he was named Archbishop of Nueva Segovia in Ilocos Sur.
On May 30, 1998, he was named Archbishop of Cotabato, his current assignment.

Cardinal
On January 12, 2014, Quevedo was named as one of the 19 new cardinals by Pope Francis. He will be elevated to the cardinalate in the consistory of February 22, 2014.
